BMCC Art-236 Introduction to photography class

While still taking NYIP Professional photography course I decided to take Photography class at my college. I need credits for art class so I chosen photography because I love to shoot!

I have to say, It's been over a month since my class started but I didn't learn anything new about photography yet. I had a chance to see my classmates horrible snapshots and wondered if any of them put at least a little effort while taking pictures. I don't want to say that my photos are superb but my professor was pleasantly surprised when he saw my photos. There're couple more people in my class with some kind of potential of taking better photos in future and none, except me, knows how to use camera in manual mode:) I just hope things will get better.

I appreciate that our professor tries to make our lessons less boring and more like "hands on" rather than lecture type of classes.

NYIP continued...

It's been over a year since I signed up for Professional Photography course at NYIP.
Things got a little slower with my learning experience and I'm in the end of Unit 3 now.  (Total is 6 Units). I have to say I've learned a lot from the course and I can see how my photographs became better.

It seems like I'm purchasing more and more photography accessories while reading the course because I feel like I need them:)

My recent purchase includes  Sigma 10-20mm  f/4-5.6 Ultra wide angle lens for landscape photography. I really like the lens even though it's not super "fast" (sensitive to light) lens but it's on heavier side (comparing to Nikkor 50mm 1.8) and needs a tripod and slow shutter speed in low light situations.
This was my most expensive photography accessory so far. ($350 used off Ebay). I only hope I will use this as often as I want to.
